Redhill Handball Tournament

Brookfield students competed in the Redhill Handball Tournament against Redhill Trust schools.

The first Redhill Handball tournament was held at Nottingham University with 10 Redhill schools involved on Tuesday the 24th of April. Brookfield took four teams of students to the all-day event. With more than 400 students in attendance it was a prestigious event that looked to develop skills in a new sport. England handball helped run the occasion and had their scouts watching the games looking out for any up and coming talent.

Brookfield teams all worked incredibly hard in their group games, developing new skills and quickly getting to grips with some tough competition. All teams had some excellent matches, performing well together.

The under 15 boys team managed to win their group and went into the competition's knockout phase.  They won their semi-final game after a penalty shoot-out with some great saves by Luca R. In the final they played well, but were up against a very experienced team from South Notts Academy and ended the day as runners up.

All students had a fantastic day's competition and were excellent ambassadors for the school. We look forward to taking part again next year.
